Sheet metal and general metal fabrication

Cutting, folding and welding the metalwork that builders, contractors and manufacturers order week after week.

The business, as an owner knows it

A sheet metal shop earns its keep on accuracy and turnaround. Builders, shopfitters, HVAC contractors, equipment manufacturers and other trades send through drawings, and the shop cuts, folds, welds and finishes to spec, week after week. The customer list looks like a job book, but the behaviour is repeat business: the same accounts come back because the work arrives right and on time.

The barriers are real. Laser cutters, turret punches, press brakes and welding bays represent years of investment. Tradespeople who can read a drawing, hold a tolerance and quote a job properly are scarce and getting scarcer. A shop that has survived 20 years holds process knowledge, jigs and customer trust that a new entrant cannot buy.

Why Talia Capital acquires here

Repeat production work from a spread of trade and industrial customers, real plant, and skilled people whose knowledge never appears on a balance sheet. Demand follows maintenance and fit-out cycles as much as new construction, which keeps the work coming through the cycle.

After acquisition the shop keeps its name, its team and its customers. Our contribution is patient investment: a machine upgrade when it earns its keep, quoting and job management systems that take the evening paperwork off the owner, and no growth the floor cannot carry.

What we look for

  • 15 or more years of trading with repeat trade accounts
  • Roughly 10 to 40 staff including qualified tradespeople
  • A spread of customers rather than one dominant account
  • Maintained cutting, folding and welding plant
  • Quoting and drafting capability that does not rest on the owner alone
  • Work that repeats: production runs, trade orders, maintenance metalwork
