Niche industrial equipment manufacturers
Designers and builders of the specific machines an industry cannot run without, with parts and service to match.

The business, as an owner knows it
Somewhere in almost every industry there is a small manufacturer whose machine everyone in that niche knows: a conveyor for one kind of produce, a washer for one kind of part, a dosing unit, a packing line, a purpose-built rig. The company designed it years ago, refined it through hundreds of installations, and now owns a niche too small for large competitors to bother with and too technical for newcomers to enter.
The installed base is the quiet asset. Every machine in the field generates spare parts, servicing, upgrades and eventually a replacement, and customers come back to the company that built it because nobody else understands it. Owners in this industry are often the original engineer, which is exactly why succession is hard without a buyer who respects the product.
Why Talia Capital acquires here
A defensible niche, an installed base that generates recurring parts and service revenue, and engineering knowledge accumulated over decades. That combination is durable in a way that fashionable products are not.
We acquire these businesses to keep the product alive and the knowledge in the building: retaining the engineers and tradespeople, documenting what lives in the founder's head, and investing in the next version of the machine at a sensible pace. The name on the nameplate stays.
What we look for
- 15 or more years building and supporting a product line
- Roughly 10 to 40 staff across engineering, workshop and service
- An installed base generating parts, service and repeat orders
- A niche position competitors have little reason to attack
- Documented designs, or founders willing to help document them
- A customer spread across the niche rather than one big buyer
